Loyal K9 Rescue exists to give every dog a safe place to land and a chance at the loving life they deserve. Through rescue, foster care, adoption, and community support, we are committed to protecting vulnerable dogs, strengthening the bond between pets and people, and helping every dog find not just a home—but the right home.

Who We Are

As you may have guessed… Loyal K9 Rescue is led by a team of passionate dog lovers dedicated to giving every rescue a second chance. Our combined experience in animal care, rescue, nonprofit leadership, community outreach, and foster-based care allows us to provide each dog with the compassion, medical attention, and preparation they need before finding their forever family.

Every dog in our care is raised in a foster home, where they begin adjusting to family life while receiving individualized love and attention. Before adoption, each dog is spayed or neutered, vaccinated for Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, Leptospirosis, and Kennel Cough, microchipped, dewormed, started on heartworm prevention, and receives a comprehensive veterinary wellness exam. Dogs over 10 months of age are also tested for heartworm and Lyme disease. Each adoption includes either a harness or martingale collar, depending on the dog's individual needs.

At Loyal K9 Rescue, the health, safety, and lifelong well-being of every dog are our highest priorities. We are equally committed to finding families who will provide the love, patience, and care each dog deserves.   • Mhegann Herendeen

    FOUNDER

    Mhegann founded Loyal K9 Rescue out of her lifelong passion for helping dogs find safe, loving forever homes. With a background in veterinary care, she leads the rescue with compassion, oversees foster and adoption placements, and works tirelessly to ensure every dog receives the care and opportunity they deserve.

  • Tabitha Tackett-Baird

    BOARD MEMBER

    Tabitha is a dedicated advocate for rescue dogs and has adopted four Loyal K9 Rescue pups of her own. Alongside her husband, Jeff, she actively fosters dogs, builds community partnerships, and volunteers at events, always eager to support the rescue's mission in any way she can.

  • Magen Wilhelm

    BOARD MEMBER

    Magen is a passionate supporter of Loyal K9 Rescue who leads many of the organization's fundraising efforts and creates promotional materials that help share the rescue's mission. Alongside her husband, Aaron, she has welcomed six rescue dogs into her family, including Winston, a Loyal K9 Rescue alum.

  • Raegan Krumlauf

    BOARD MEMBER

    Raegan brings experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, website design, and digital marketing to the board, helping expand the rescue's outreach and community impact. As the proud adopter of Loyal K9 Rescue dogs Cora and Rue, she is passionate about connecting every deserving dog with a loving forever family.
